Playing field
I had a huge realization hit me the other day.I just could not believe that I did not see this until just then.I felt just a bit stupid, but most of all I was excited!
It is really simple.Let me tell you what it is first and then I will tell you how it impacted me.
Every day when you wake up in the morning and put your feet on the ground, that is your playing field. You are in the game.
For me that was a big eye opener. It did not say that I was in the dugout or training field, but in the game. This was not training or practice, but the real thing. I could not go along anymore saying ’someday I will do this’ or ’someday I will do that’ I was in today and I have to make things happen or someday was never going to come. Staying practice mode all the time because I thought I was not quite ready for the real thing was never going to lead to where I wanted to go. When was I going to take the next step and start the game?
I was not really sure because I felt like I was still getting ready for the event, but the truth is,every day that we wake up is part of the big game. Each play that we make is part of the actual results, not a test run or try out for the team.We are already on the team, that happened when we were born.
Today is what makes tomorrow happen, because we know that there is no rematch in the game of life. There are sidelines, but honestly,is that where we want to be? Waiting for our turn to be called, watching as others triumph, and wondering if we can make it for ourselves?
Your feet are on the playing field today, right now. You are in the game. The next play is your call. Victory is the place to be and it is in reach. The real losers are the ones who never try,but the true winners play the game every day no matter what it brings.
Good good stuff.
P.S.
The above saying was said at a rock concert (who would have thought that?) by a band named PILLAR and was the inspiration for their song ‘For the love of the game’ If you like great music that is also good and loud, take a look at them.
